Born from a Vision to provide durable and high-quality protection products, our journey began in April 1995 in a modest shed on Irrigation Way, with just two dedicated staff members and a commitment to solving the real challenges farmers face. That year, we manufactured our first bunker tarp—a milestone that marked the beginning of an enduring legacy.
As demand for our solutions increased, so did our company. In 2002, we took a bold step forward, establishing our purpose-built offices and factory on Massey Avenue. This expansion allowed us to refine our craftsmanship and enhance production capabilities, ensuring we could meet the evolving needs of Australian agriculture. By 2006, we expanded our manufacturing shed, and in 2011, we constructed a second facility to accommodate the rising demand for grain bunker covers.
Polytex has always been more than just a business; it’s a family-driven enterprise rooted in integrity, innovation and service. Rod Martin joined in 2012, and Trent Martin in 2016. That same year, we ventured into global markets, exporting premium agricultural protection products, further solidifying our reputation as industry leaders.
With a relentless drive for improvement, we refreshed our brand in 2021 and developed cutting-edge cotton wrap through extensive R&D efforts. By 2024, we expanded our presence even further by opening offices in Sydney and Goondiwindi, QLD—strengthening our reach and ability to serve the agricultural community.
Now, in 2025, we celebrate a remarkable milestone: 30 years of innovation, growth and unwavering commitment to the agricultural industry. With a team of 32 dedicated professionals, Polytex has established its place as Australia’s leading provider of protection solutions for agriculture. From grain storage to cotton wrap and almond covers, our products safeguard the industry that feeds and sustains the nation.

Polytex is a tarpaulin manufacturer in Australia with 50 years of experience and expertise from three generations in the fabrics industry.
Established in the 1990s we have since grown with the help of continuing expansion, research, and development.
Our skilled workforce and state-of-the-art computerised equipment allow us to create tarpaulin products for various industries, including agriculture, industrial, and commercial uses in Australia. From mining companies in Western Australia to agriculture and industrial tarpaulin uses along the Eastern seaboard, we are well-positioned to serve Australian businesses with specialist tarpaulin products.
Our specialty lies in the fabrication of long, large covers and bulk tarp items for various applications, with more than 30,000 square meters of tarps able to be produced per day. Our product range includes grain storage bunker covers, dam liners, hay and cotton covers, tarpaulins for trucking and building industries, shelter covers for military, mining, agriculture, and industry, and more. We also manufacture acoustic noise control screens for the industry.
